The Diana Hyland Miracle Fund has been created in memory of Diana Hyland - a dear wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. After recovering from her first bout with breast cancer 10 years ago, Diana sadly lost her battle with the devastating disease of metastatic breast cancer on October 27, 2008.
Our goal is to raise $1 million to partially establish an Endowed Chair in Metastatic Breast Cancer Research for Dr. Paula Silverman, who took excellent care of Diana throughout her illness. There is an urgent need for better, safer and more successful treatments. Of the women who were previously diagnosed, approximately 30% will develop metastatic breast cancer. Though women are living longer with the disease, an estimated 41,000 women died of metastatic breast cancer in 2008. More successful cancer treatment is on the horizon as we ultimately search for a cure.
We look forward to growing this important research fund as part of Diana’s legacy.
Sincerely,
Ned, Tara and Brendan Hyland and the Friends of the Fund
